AWS Q Business

Amazon Q Business allows developers to easily build AI-powered assistants with access to enterprise data. Amazon Q Business automatically selects the best large language model (LLM) for each request. AWS developers who want to have more control over their applications, including choice of AI models, will want to use Amazon Bedrock instead.

Here’s what Amazon Q Business chatbot can do for you:

  • Respond to Questions: Ask complex questions in natural language. It understands and processes these queries to provide relevant responses.

  • Third-party Application Interaction: Integrates with popular business applications like Jira, ServiceNow, and Salesforce. 

  • Document Uploads: Upload documents either to one of the supported storage options or directly into the chat window. This makes it easy to access and interact with your documents right from the chat.

Availability: This tool is available to staff and faculty at Yale with an AWS account. 

Integration Capabilities: AWS Q Business integrates in multiple ways including Amazon S3, SharePoint, etc. 

Pricing: Depends on the usage. 

Data Risk Classification: Approved for high risk data, however, it needs to undergo an AI request review process

Privacy and Protection: The tool includes privacy and protection measures to ensure data security. 

How to Access

Please note that to use this service, you need to get your use case approved by Data Governance. You must follow the AI request review process and use this form to request access to AWS Q Business. For these types of requests, please follow the steps outlined as you can’t submit the request form in ServiceNow before your request has been approved by Data Governance and the ISO team.
