Known Issues
We are aware of the following known issues as of September 5, 2025.
- “Information is not in the document” even when no files have been uploaded
- Description: You may receive responses that refer to uploaded files even when no files have been uploaded. This bug is caused by the agent creating a file store at the beginning of each conversation causing the agent to think files are present even when no files have been uploaded.
- Work-around: While we wait for the bug to be addressed, the message can be ignored. It should not impact the quality of the response.
- Issue uploading multiple files
- Description: Currently, Clarity does not support uploading more than one file at a time. We are working on fixing an issue with uploading multiple files.
- Work-around: Limit uploads to 1 file (consider merging content of multiple files into a single file before uploading).
- Types of uploaded files are not recognized.
- Description: When Clarity is asked to summarize a file, it may take a long time, need more information, or provide a lengthy description of how it determined the file type.
- Work-around: Specifying the file type in the prompt can speed up this process and reduce issues.
- Downloadable file is not linked in chat response.
- Description: Occasionally when Clarity is asked to provide a file for download, the response includes text that says “Download file” but there is no link generated.
- Work-around: Ask Clarity to provide a link to the file in the chat. If that doesn’t work, redo the prompt in another chat session.
- A link to “additional content” appears on screen when the agent is responding.
- Description: Occasionally, when a Clarity agent that is working with uploaded files is responding to a prompt, the agent will stop streaming its response and a link to “additional content” will appear on screen briefly and then disappear, at which point the agent will continue its response. This only happens with the GPT 40 and GPT 4o mini agents, and only when they are working with uploaded files.
- Work-around: Ignore the link and wait for the response to resume and complete.
- User can submit new prompt before response is complete
- Description: When using the Claude 3.5 Sonnet agent or the Claude Sonnet 4 agent, users can enter new prompt before the response is complete.
- Work-around: Wait until the response stops streaming before entering another prompt.
- Chats remain in conversation list after deletion
- Description: On occasion, deleted chat conversations remain visible in Clarity even after screen is reloaded
- Work-around: These conversations will persist until the bug is fixed. If you encounter this issue, please email us at ai.platforms@yale.edu so that we can troubleshoot.
- URL Formatting Issues
- Description: Linked text in prompt responses appear on a new line instead of in the regular flow of text.
- Work-around: If you are copying and pasting Clarity-generated text into an email or a document, remove the line break so that the linked text is on the same line as other text.
- Token Count Display Error
- Description: Token counts incorrectly display as 0 when you generate an image using the GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini agents.
- Work-around: There is currently no workaround currently but tokens are being used for both the user prompt and the image generation.
- Inactivity Timeout Bug
- Description: User logout timeout fails to reset with user activity, leading to sessions ending unexpectedly
- Workaround: Clarity saves all your chats, so if you are logged out, you can log back in and return to your conversation and find your previous prompts and Clarity’s responses. If you write a prompt but your session restarts before the prompt has been submitted, you will lose your prompt. To avoid losing work, finish and submit your prompt if possible so that your conversation is saved.
