Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM)

CCAM includes an AI Incubator for interdisciplinary innovation.  AI use cases and projects are frequently featured in their Wednesday Wisdom series as well as in other events and exhibits.  

Data Intensive Social Science Center (DISSC)

DISSC events often focus on practical skills and research applications. They include a range of hands on workshops on important topics for building AI applications such as research data management and making research reproducible.  Great space for building skills and sharing use cases.  

Institute for Foundations of Data Science (FDS)

FDS holds frequent guest lectures on topics related to areas of knowledge important to understanding how AI is built and evaluated including data, algorithms, and assessment. Speakers frequently include presentations of research from academic and industry experts across a variety of disciplines.  Bring your math hat!  

Schmidt Program on Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Technologies, and National Power

The Schmidt Program frequently hosts events on a variety of AI and intelligence related topics featuring speakers from industry, academia, and government.  Highly recommended for those interested in global affairs and policy issues.    

Wu Tsai Institute

The Wu Tsai Institute works to understand brains and human cognition and is currently addressing a grand challenge to create AI foundation models of the brain.  Events tend to be interdisciplinary and themes include the mind, cognition, brain, imaging, and more.  Great place to explore the intersection of AI, science, and human potential.    

Yale Center for Research Computing (YCRC)

YCRC offers a lot more than just computer.  YCRC’s events include a mix of trainings, research support hours, and workshops on topics such as machine learning, LLMs, and popular programming languages such as python.  Can’t tear yourself away from your desk?  They have self-guided learning options too!

Yale Library

Yale Library organizes its trainings calendar separately from more public facing speaker events.  Trainings include practical topics like AI literacy, Intro to Python, and Tidy Data.  Other events feature topics in cultural preservation, highlight collections, or address important issues facing academic research.
