Availability: This tool is available to faculty and staff at Yale. Student licenses are available through school or department sponsorship when required for coursework or research.
Pricing: Licenses are billed to a departmental COA.
- Standard License ($20/month): Includes platform access with consumption included, up to the Standard seat* usage limit.
- Premium License ($50/month): Includes platform access with approximately 5x the included consumption of a Standard seat, up to the Premium seat* usage limit.
*Anthropic does not publicly disclose usage limits for licenses. Limits are enforced via a rolling 5-hour window alongside a weekly usage cap that resets at a fixed time specific to your account.
Privacy and Protection: The tool includes privacy and protection measures to ensure data security:
- Model training: Conversations conducted through the Yale Enterprise license are not used to train Anthropic’s AI models.
- Data privacy: Conversations are private by default. Access to organizational data is limited to authorized administrators and governed by Yale policies and applicable requirements.
- Sensitive data: Users working with electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) must use a separate, dedicated Claude environment, which includes additional privacy and security controls. This environment is also available for users requiring zero data retention.
Yale Licensed Data Resources: In most cases, using licensed data resources with AI is prohibited by copyright and licensing agreements between the university and the vendors that govern these resources.
