Announcing Model Agnostic Agents on the Clarity Platform

Clarity agents are now more capable thanks to new functionality which is now available on the Clarity Platform. This functionality, known as Model Agnostic Agents (MAA), means that all the featured agents on the platform, regardless of the underlying AI Large Language Model, now support file uploads, file search and code generation capabilities that were previously available to only two agents.

Details

This release is a significant milestone for the Clarity Platform and enables the following improvements:

  • File upload, file search, and code generation capabilities are now available in each of the Clarity featured agents: GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, Claude Sonnet 4.5, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Pro and o3.
  • No matter which AI model you prefer, you can ask Clarity to summarize uploaded documents, describe uploaded images, analyze spreadsheets, generate code, or evaluate code you have written.
  • You can simultaneously upload up to ten files to a conversation instead of uploading files one at a time.
  • You control which agents display in your agent selection drop-down list by “enabling” them in your settings.

Important Changes

  • Your previous Clarity conversations are still available and accessible in the chat history panel, but since the new MAAs are replacing the original featured agents, you will not be able to continue these conversations. Attempting to continue a conversation that originated with one of the previous agents triggers a notice to select an agent with which to begin a new conversation. Files uploaded to conversations with the previous GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini agents are not available.
  • The Claude 3.5 agent  has been upgraded to a Model Agnostic Claude 4.5 agent.
  • Clarity’s ability to generate images, which was previously available using Dalle 3 in the GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini agents, is no longer available. We will be implementing an updated solution for image generation in the future, but in the meantime, image generation functionality is available in Microsoft Copilot Chat and Google Gemini for Education, both of which are part of Yale’s AI Toolkit.

How to access

You don’t need to do anything special to access the new Model Agnostic Agents! The featured agents in the “Agents” dropdown menu in Clarity are now the MAA versions of these agents. If you want to change which agents appear in the dropdown, please visit Customize your agent dropdown menu.
